The devastating spring flood waters wreaked havoc on businesses along River Road. One of those, River Road BBQ, announced it will be open with pop-ups all this week prior to a planned reopening in early June.

General Manager Krissy Davis said the pop-ups will be held out in front of the business, which is still being worked on to repair flood damage and renovated. Barbecue will be sold daily from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, or until all the food is sold that day. The limited menu includes pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket sandwiches, meats by the pound and chips. All food is packaged to go.

Businesses on River Road were hit not once but twice this spring by flood waters. In addition, construction along River Road has funneled traffic away from the area, causing further difficulties. River Road BBQ has been forced to close a number of times in past years due to spring floods, but it always rebounds.
