Louisville VegFest Returns Sept. 6
One of the region’s most anticipated plant-based events is back.
Louisville VegFest will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12-6 p.m. at the Mellwood Art Center, drawing thousands of visitors to celebrate all things vegan in a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. Formerly known as Bluegrass VegFest, the festival is now proudly powered by VegKentucky, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building healthier, more sustainable, and compassionate communities through plant-based living.
This year, Louisville VegFest will welcome dozens of local and out-of-state vendors offering everything from vegan cuisine to eco-conscious products, wellness goods, and artisan crafts. With more than 6,000 attendees expected, the event offers a powerful opportunity to connect with a passionate and growing community of health-conscious, eco-aware, and socially engaged consumers.
The festival will feature:
An indoor vendor marketplace in 19,000 sq ft of air-conditioned space
A wide selection of vegan food trucks and restaurants
Live cooking demos and expert speaker panels
Craft beer and cocktails, kid-friendly activities, giveaways, and more
A special VIP Hour from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, including early entry and a tote bag full of vegan goodies (VIP tickets $25)
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Attendees of all ages and dietary preferences are welcome.
“We’re thrilled to host Louisville VegFest again and showcase how delicious and inclusive plant-based living can be,” Kristina J. Addington, Executive Director of VegKentucky and former owner of Louisville’s beloved vegan restaurant V-Grits, said in a news release. “This festival is about community, education, and celebrating the positive impact we can make on our health, the planet, and animals — together.”
In addition to the festival, VegKentucky offers free educational workshops, an affordable plant-based meal service, monthly community dinners, and other events aimed at making plant-based living accessible for everyone in Kentucky.
